Kimberly López Castellanos is a Bronx-native filmmaker and communications specialist. After graduating in 2018 from College of the Atlantic, she returned to New York City and quickly began collaborating with local organizations to make connections with creatives, artists, and organizing efforts. In 2017, she was awarded the Udall Scholarship for her work merging climate justice activism and communications strategies. Kim was selected as a 2020-2021 Bronx Documentary Center fellow aimed to broaden the pipeline of traditionally underrepresented Bronx documentary filmmakers into the film profession and enable them to gain employment in creative industries. In 2022, she was chosen by A24 and Made in Her Image for their inaugural program Beyond the Screen in support of women and non-binary POC filmmakers.
